Wow, I have been AWOL (absent with out leave). I fully understand the crazy demands of life that pull us away from good time alone with God. Too many days this week that have been very early morning to late at night. So sorry!
Devotions for the next few days deal with our prayer life. It seems like we think that God is not listening if He does not do things the way we desire for Him to do things.
God is listening and He loves us. We must keep on praying. God does listen and honor the humble heart that turns to Him. I firmly believe that God is Almighty, full of perfect knowledge and perfect in His decisions. If God is perfect, then I must believe with all my heart that God is listening and doing the best for me. I must also remember the best isn't always easy.
So, I take comfort to know that God is perfect and that He is listening and that He is working all things together for my good (Romans 8:28)
I like the sentence in the devo; "When you pray, be alert and watch for God's response, even if it isn't what you expected."
He is listening! What are you saying?
God bless you,
PJ

We were gone on vacation this past week and one of our pet dogs disappeared. While just an animal, she is kind of a family member and is our responsibility. We could do nothing since we were out of town. It was rather stressful thinking about all the things that can happen to a small dog out in the cold cruel world. They are pretty defenseless. I told God she was just a dog, but was one of his creatures placed in my care. I could do nothing from where I was at. I asked Him to take care of her for me. Short story shorter, we got her back safe and sound. I struggled with leaving her in God's hands, but kept telling myself that God cares for even the little things in our lives and He does. Thank you Father for showing me in this life episode that you do listen and answer our prayers.
ReplyDeleteRichard,
ReplyDeleteWhat a great example of what prayer is about. We are supposed to bring all of our needs to God in prayer. That is real life. Thanks for sharing!
