comparisons

Do you ever make comparisons? Like, my dad is stronger than your dad! Well, I have done that, but not recently about my dad. For me it could be something about how my church does this better than that church. God convicts me of those kind of comparisons and just about any comparison.

God has helped me to see that the pastor of the small rural church in some remote county is as important as the pastor of the largest church in the nation. Comparison is unfair for us. Why? Because of faithfulness to the obedience of what God wants us to be is most important thing, not how I compare to another person.

I should never compare myself to any human or human process. I should compare myself to what God desires of me! Who do you compare to?

God bless you,
PJ

  1. I struggle with comparing myself to others in every aspect of my life. My Christian walk, work, home, yard, cars, talents, skills, are all compared to someone else. It is difficult for me to accept myself as a creation of God with my own abilities to be used for Him. Others are so much more skilled or talented than I am. Yet He created me for His use and I must choose to accept myself since He accepts me. He has a plan and a use for me. Reading the Bible daily and communicating with Him helps me to focus on being what He wants ME to be and not to look at others. When I start looking at others, Satan has an open door to put me down and tell me I am a failure.
