What an interesting devo today! How many times have I felt really bad about something that was totally my own fault. I complain that I have to suffer the consequences of my foolish or sinful action. I even get stressed about it. So, how can I stop feelings stressed or distressed over these situations? Stop doing the foolish or sinful thing.
I once heard a man say, "I went to the Doctor and said to the Doctor; "It hurts when I put my hand up over my head." The Doctor simply said, "Stop putting your hand over your head!"
Sometimes we face distress for our own foolishness and the best way out is to stop doing the foolish things.
What foolish or sinful thing are you doing that leads to distress in your life?
Stop doing it!
God bless you,
PJ

Pastor. I will be commenting on this and the other devos for this week when I return. I walked out of the house without my devo, bible and a couple less significant items. Keep the comments coming so I can keep up. Thanks for all you do.

ReplyDeleteA few years ago when I was in rebellion and living in sin, I was constantly distressed about eternity. Thankfully, I finally turned my life back over to God and asked Him to take charge of my life. I had to take that step and turn from my wicked way and seek the Lord. Is my life now free of distress? Not necessarily, but God gives me peace whenever I turn my distress over to Him. When it is circumstance I have no control over, He gives me peace. When I am distressed because of my own actions, He directs me to correct the area in my life causing the distress. Knowing that God is my friend is a great distress reliever. Thank you Father for being my friend, guide and savior. Help me to completely turn all the areas of my life over to you.
