Have you ever said or had it said to you, "you can count on me"? Frankly many of us have faced that opportunity. Someone has said, "you can count on me". And we believe them because we know them and have a relationship with them. If we don't know them, we have a difficult time believing them. So it is with God. God says, "you can count on me!" We believe Him if we really know Him. We doubt Him when we don't know Him. I have found that the closer I get to God, through His Word and prayer, I find Him more trustworthy and reliable.
I find Him fully reliable to His character and Word. However, He doesn't always do what Joe wants. He does what God knows is right in light of eternity.
I am challenged to grow in my faith and trust in God's reliability.

Another reason for me to be reading the Word on a daily basis is to reinforce and strengthen my faith and trust in God's promises. There are so many instances of Him keeping His word for his people. Satan constantly tells me that God does not care about me because I am insignificant and nothing. God's word tells me different. I am His child and He loves me and cares for me and wants me to be with Him. I must choose to believe His Word, His promises and to have faith that He will keep them in regard to me. Father, you are above all else, honest and you have given me your promises and oath that you will take care of me. Help me to believe and Trust in You.
