Today we were challenged to think about our conscience. I once had a person tell me about some really bad stuff they had been involved in doing and then they said; "I feel so guilty". The reality is that it was their conscience and they felt guilty because they were guilty. Funny how that works!
God put it in us and we can try to numb or desensitize the guilty conscience, but like the devo pointed out, God is the real judge and whether we feel guilty or not, if it is wrong, God will judge it. It is not the world to which I am to compare my sense of right and wrong. It is God and His Word. I am grateful for my conscience and how the Holy Spirit works to guide me to righteous living.
Thank you God for a conscience that is sensitive to Godly Truth!
How about you?

I have heard the conscience described as a cube that spins inside of us when we do something that is wrong. The sharp sides and corners get our attention and tell us to stop. After a while, the sharp corners wear off and the cube becomes round and doesn't hurt anymore. Thankfully, God is faithful and our conscience does not go away, but we can wear it down by ignoring it. By having daily time with the Father, we can quickly discern a mistake and many times He will use our conscience to alert us before we make a mistake.
