Some people think that Godly people will always have blessings and wealth here on this earth. I do not think that is a good reading from the Bible. While blessings and wealth might happen here. I believe that we must maintain an eternal viewpoint when we read verses about God always providing good and evil not defeating us. Sometimes evil wins here on earth. Just look around! But in the eternal, heavenly perspective, we will win. Poverty, sorrow, sadness, evil, etc... are all wiped out in heaven.
We must live this life well, but this life is not our goal. Heaven is our goal. We may live with scarcity here, but I want to invest my life in the eternal treasures of heaven.
Are you beginning to get the heavenly perspective?
God bless you,
PJ

Too many times I think in terms of this world when it comes to what I have. On the one hand, I see those who can live each day without worry or concern about bills and physical needs. On the other hand I read and see others who have far less than I. When I read God's Word, I begin to see that true poverty is when I do not have God in my life. He has given me wisdom and ability to make choices for my life here on earth and has also given me the promise that He will be with me when things happen that are out of my control. I must choose to trust Him no matter what my worldly circumstances. Not an easy thing to do when everything around me says wealth, health and prosperity. Father help me keep my eyes on You and help me to see that being with out you is true poverty.
