It seems to me like most of us think we need to have God give to us so that we can have something for ourselves. However, God's real plan to give to us is so that we can be a channel of His blessing to someone else. Many times I meet people who say; "If I had more I would give". However, history has proven that generous people give from very little or very much. And greedy people are greedy with little or a lot.
It is always important for me to remember to "give and it will be given" to me... but it starts with me giving first.
What have you given lately?
God bless you,
PJ

Why is giving so hard when God has promised to take care of all my needs and if I am generous in our giving He will be generous to me. Great Promise. Now to just believe and do it. Truthfully, we have begun to give more over the past few years and our needs have been met without fail. I have begun to pray for specific needs concerning our debt. If we were debt free, we could give more. I do not believe God wants me to forget my obligations and give him all my income. I have responsibilities and God wants me to take care of those. He has helped me find a way to become debt free in just a few years and I believe He is being faithful to us because of our desire to give more. I also pray this scripture daily. Psalms 139: 23-24. Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. Father, help me to focus on you and to give what you lead me to give and to leave the results to you.
ReplyDeleteright on... so true... so hard. Kind of like, I know it would be good for me to excercise and I still find it difficult to do it.
