I Can't

When I read today's devo I was reminded of the times that I said to God, "I can't". It was an admission of my perceived weakness and inability. Today I am reminded of the reality that God is my helper and He enables me to do what I think I cannot do. He is God and He is all powerful!

There are times I feel like I can't be the faithful witness for Christ. There are times it feels like I can't stand alone for what is right when it seems like so many are doing wrong. It feels like I can't turn the cheek when people wrong me or hurt me. It feels like I can't forgive when forgiveness is the right answer. It feels like I can't love my wife so sacrificially like the Bible says I am to do. It feels like I can't give as much as the Bible and God asks me to give. It feels like I can't... what would you say?

What is God speaking to your heart about doing or obeying? Does it feel like you can't do it? Then we must remember that "I can do everything with the help of Christ who gives me the strength I need. (Phil. 4:13)

What are you doing alone? What are you doing with God's strength? What are you saying "I can't" about?

Just do it... God will give you the strength.

God bless you,
PJ

  1. Good devo with excellent examples from the Bible. Another good reason I should read the Word on a daily basis. God makes the difference between my inadequacies and success. It has been a good year in that these devotionals have helped me understand that my role is a part of God's plan. Singing in the choir, helping with a 10-20 setup crew, doing my job as if I am working for the Lord, are all ministry that I am involved in. All He asks of me is to do my best for Him and to leave the results to Him. That useless feeling is just another attack of Satan trying to defeat me. Thank you Jesus.
