2nd day of Criticism

The devo is right... "no one likes criticism - even when it is constructive - we sometimes need it." All of us have faults or weaknesses that someone can criticize. The difference between judging and constructive criticism can be found in the "how" and "why". There are people who have criticized me and it was harsh and uncaring, but correct. I firmly believe their action was motivated by a judgmental spirit. I have also been criticized with a very caring spirit, that was gentle and constructive. There is a difference!

Now, I need to watch this in my heart and attitude as I observe others. Am I being judging or constructively criticizing? The "how" and "why" is essential.

Frankly, I believe that I should spend more time trying to encourage others than criticize.

God bless you,
PJ

  1. Wow another good one to take to my heart. Judge not. Tough to adhere too. I tend to judge someone too quickly, criticizing too harshly, just because others don't think or do things the same way I do. While God has helped me overcome this in several ways over the past years, I still need to work hard on keeping a Godly perspective on my relationship with others. Listen carefully and talk less, is something I need to do better.
