Cross

When I watched the movie: The Passion of Christ, I was astonished at the graphic depiction of the horrific crucifixion of Jesus Christ. The realization of Jesus dying on the cross was very impacting. That movie was as significant as anything I have experienced to help me grasp the impact of Christ on the cross and what He did for me.

Now, more than ever, I am captured by my need to take up my cross type burdens and follow Jesus, no matter how challenging the process. If Jesus can sacrifice for me on the cross, then I can do the same for him. What do you need to sacrifice for Jesus?

"Thank you Jesus for going to the cross and paying the price for my sins. You are amazing! Help me to be as sacrificial for you!"

God bless you,
Pastor Joe

  1. The cross has been symbolized so much I fear it has become just an object of religion. When I watched the movie about Jesus' last few days and it showed the incredible amount of suffering He went through and the way he was nailed (spiked really) to those wooden beams, it made it much more real for me. I cannot imagine what it was like. Yet, He tells us that separation from Him for eternity will be worse than what He suffered. When I think of what He went through for me, it is very humbling. I really don't have much of a cross to bear when I think about His. Father, keep me focused on the eternal life you have promised and help me keep this old world in perspective. Thank you for loving me so very much.
