Remember

I don't know about you, but, I remember eventful situations much more than uneventful situations. For example, I remember where I was when the twin towers of New York were destroyed. I was visiting at St. John's hospital in Tulsa Oklahoma. I remember where I was in the third grade when I heard about President Kennedy being shot and killed. We remember special events and occasions much more readily.

Each of us need to have special, even eventful, encounters with God and we will remember them and Him more vividly.

I remember a time a prayed for a woman and she was healed. Wow, I will never forget God's wonderful presence and power that healded that woman. I will never forget having a supernatural encounter with God's Holy Spirit at night one time. It made God undeniably real. I remember having Bible reading times where it has been like the Holy Spirit spoke to me audibly, saying, "that verse is for you."

If we have never had an eventful type experience with God, then it is harder to remember Him and hold the memories for our daily encouragement. Because of my eventful encounters with God, I cannot forget Him. Remembering Him and His presence helps me stay faithful!

What helps you remember God?
God bless you,
PJ

  1. Good devotional today. Emphasizes daily devotions, but also points out that my communication with the Father is not restricted to a set time and place. When I include Him in every aspect of my life, He becomes the focus, my support and gives a better perspective on life. Good stuff and bad stuff happens because we live in an imperfect world, but through it all, He is with me and if I cling to Him and trust Him, He has promised to take me home to be with Him. Father, help me to include you in every thing I do and say.
