I have noticed this is an issue for many people. I have the opportunity to work with people from about every rank of life. I have often watched people turn on the respect and honor when they encounter a person that they believe is important and turn it off for others. I firmly believe we need to show respect for every person we meet.

I like respect. It makes me feel good. It has to be earned. Sometimes I am a bit too hesitant to give respect. The Devo says to respect others by not favoring over others. Interesting thought. This respect isn't so much about how I think about an individual, but more on how I think about my Christian brothers and sisters. It says nothing about if they earned it or not. The respect I am to show is a choice I make in my attitude toward and about them. This attitude comes out in my actions and words and the world sees and hears.
