Guard rails is a great illustrative idea for guarding your heart. God has given us great guidelines through the Bible. Are you aware of the guidelines? Each of us need to pay attention and guard our heart to keep us from slamming into some sin issue.
It seems like I often hear men speak about being frustrated with the idea of following Godly guidelines... like obeying the Bible. It is valuable for us to see it as the guard rails that keep us out of the sin ditch.
I guard my heart by reading God's Word, listening to God's Word and listening to Christian music. I also work to discipline my eyes regarding what I see, watch or read.

These devotional just keep telling me that daily communication with my Father is so important. His Word gives us such wonderful guidance. Satan works hard at distracting me when I am reading the word and it encourages me to keep up my daily reading. There is so much in this world to attract and distract me. It is hard to avoid a lot of it. Reading the Word this past year has helped me strengthen against temptation. On the internet it is so tempting to visit inappropriate sites. I guard against that temptation by making sure my wife and daughter have access to my computers. I do not want them to ever see that I visited something wrong. Just one way to guard against a prevelant weapon of Satan. Accountability.
