I can remember when I first met Dawn Marie (my wife) in June of 1972. We were in North Carolina and when she left to go home to South Dakota and I left to go home to Missouri, my heart ached. I felt we had a heart connection and we did. My heart longed to get to know her better.
I want my heart to long to get to know God better. I want God to know my heart and He does... even better than I do. I try to honestly talk to God about what He already knows in my heart. I ask Him to help me, because He already knows how I need help. When I am honest with God about my heart He seems to be a greater help for me. I am determined to live with integrity, to be humble and obey God. Only when I am honest with God about my heart can He really create a clean heart in me.
How's your heart connection with God?

(Psa 139:23) Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:
ReplyDelete(Psa 139:24) And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

These are two verses I read daily in my prayer time. I want to be honest before God every moment of every day. Then in Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
It is a promise that He will guide and lead us if we but connect with him and let him. Again, these devotionals are guiding me to seek Him daily and open my heart to Him for cleansing and direction for the day.
