In to me see

Yesterday we learned about intimacy with God. The word just doesn't seem to flow out of most men's mouths. However, the sentence in the devo has it right; "The intimacy of any relationship is a function of both the amount of time spent together and the quality of what is accomplished or shared in that time."

So, I ask, "how much time and what kind of time do you spend with God?" For me, it needs to be more than just sermon prep. I need to have personal time with God.

This may sound crazy, but very often bathroom time is one of the ways I can get alone with the Bible and also pray. Early morning is also good for me.

What about you?

God bless you,
PJ

  1. The Lord replied, "I will personally go with you." Exodus 33:14. What a promise. He will go with me. When I think of God being there with me it overwhelms me. He wants to be intimately close with me. After all the years in the church one would think I would have figured this out a long time ago. My selfish stubborn and lazy attitude kept me from developing a close relationship with God. Finally, just over a year ago, I began getting up early and having a daily devotional time, developing a routine communication with my Heavenly Father. Was it easy? Of course not, but I finally just did it. Now if I miss (over sleep) this time, I feel the loss through out the day. Sure, I still communicate with God all day long, but I miss the time of singing, reading and bringing my family and friends to Him in this quiet time. If you don't have a set time to spend with God but are thinking of doing so, don't think about it anymore....JUST DO IT.
