Lead by Example

We learned from the example of Christ a couple of days ago. Now we are being called to be that example for others.

I started drinking coffee by following an example. In my first pastoral assignment some of the men of the church would go to a little cafe in downtown Brookings and they invited me. They drank coffee, offered me coffee and, by their example, I ventured into coffee drinking. Good grief, it didn't even taste good. But their example and friendship made a connection. Now I am a coffee drinker!

That may be a very simple illustration, but our example has an impact of some kind. What kind of example are you living?

Does your family, friends, etc... see you living a Christ like life? Does your example come from a Godly heart? While we must be very careful that we don't live to be a "show-off", we must live a sincere Christian life to be an example (witness) for Christ.

God bless you,
PJ

  1. I am an example to others whether or not I want to be. I am either a good example or a bad example. It is my choice on a moment by moment basis. By spending daily time in the Word and communicationg with the Father, I give myself a better start on being a good example each day. Father, help me to Man Up on a daily basis, and apply your word to my daily choices, actions and words.
