Have you ever heard someone say, "Oops, my bad!" when they mess up, fail, sin, etc? Well, I am very grateful to a God who understands and forgives our failures. One of the biggest things for us to learn is that we need to get up and try again when we fail. God knows about our weaknesses and He desires for us to keep trying. Frankly, I am convinced that our own disappointment about our failure causes us to stop more than anything. We begin to think we are losers, failures and incapable of succeeding. It is time we get up and try again and again, remembering when we quit, we fail. When we keep on trying we succeed (spiritually, personally, family, vocationally, etc...).
My friend John Maxwell wrote a book entitled; Failing Forward, and in it he commends us to use our failures to learn and become better to move forward. That can be applied to our sin struggles or our silly struggles.
Don't let your failures cause you to quit. Give your failures to God. God forgives... we should forgive ourselves and keep on trying.
God bless you,
PJ

Yes, Pastor Joe!! Failure often leads to success. How many time did Edison fail before his discovery of the light bulb? Does everyone begin a career or job knowing everything? I accept failure, I learn from it and then reapply and overcome with God help. This is why the Spirit is within us, to help as we live for Christ. Our shortcomings are what shows us to improve, change and get rid of, so we get closer to God and what He has for us. We are not perfect, Christ was the only perfect person and He taught on the imperfections we have. Give the failures to the One that knows how to overcome them and get us on the right path.
ReplyDeleteOne of Satan's best tools to hammer me with. It seems all I can see when I look back is failure in my walk with God. Selfish rebellion, wanting my own way, going my own way. Satan continually tells me I can't make it. It is so important that I spend daily time in God's Word reading how He continually forgives and walks with me. He is faithful and I am trusting Him to be with me to the end. I have to make that choice to accept His forgiveness, forgive myself, and move on. My daily communication with Him helps me overcome Satan's attacks about failure.
