Rarely

Rarely do we see true servant leaders! Jesus did it! Who else can you name?

Jesus was really clear... "whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant." (Matthew 20:26) Wow, did Jesus ever seem to have that wrong for this day and age. But the Bible says that Jesus is the same, yesterday, today and forever. So His principles must be right! Servant Leaders!

How will you lead this week? As a servant or as a... well I guess you get the idea!

How about leading your wife? Your kids? Your neighbor? Your co-workers?

Recently there were dirty dishes in the office sink and none of them were mine. I felt that God prompted me to wash them. I had a twinge of "you don't have to do that, you're the pastor and besides none of the dishes are yours." And then God spoke a bit more boldly and I led more like Jesus would do it.

God lead someone!

God bless you,

PJ

  1. Jesus was an example of a servant leader. I read that He did not ask His followers to do anything that He had not done or was willing to do along side them. In a supervisor's class I took, we were taught that as supervisors we should be working for our employees. It is a concept that many in leadership today have forgotten. Father, help me to serve others whether or not I am in a leadership position.
