It is interesting to me, that people raised going to church from childhood often have a more difficult time confessing sin. Why, maybe because when we grow up living a Christian looking life, it is hard for us to realize that we are really a sinner who needs to CONFESS our sinfulness to God before we truly receive forgiveness of sins. It is vitally important for each of us to see that we are a sinner and confess that sinfulness to Christ. When we acknowledge our sinfulness, that is confession. Jesus requires that before we are forgiven. Look up and read 1 John 1:8-10. Those verses help us understand the importance of confession.
God bless you,

I had to recognize my own sin, with the help of God and Friends, before confessing it. In my rebellion, I was refusing to recognize that my choices were separating me from God, family and friends. Once I acknowledged and confessed my sin(s), this restored my relationship with God, and began a healing process of my mind, spirit and body. The healing of relationships takes a very long time, especially when there is emotional hurt involved. My rebellious choices have brought consequences that I must live with, but thanks be to God, He forgave when I confessed my sin.
ReplyDeletePastor Joe. You are very correct. thank you for your insight.
ReplyDeleteConfession, admitting to sinning, and turning away. Going to my knees at realizing the separation I had from Christ. Seeing this, then confessing it, was the biggest step I have undertook in my life. My heart being laid open for Christ to come in and take over! To be humbled, to be at that lowest of lows, and then begging, praying and asking Christ to come in to my heart.
ReplyDeleteI thank you Lord, I give all praises to you for the work You are doing, have done and will do in my life. I know the road is long, but everyday I pray for my short comings, for wisdom and Your guidance in my life. Without you, Lord I can never hope to be whole. Thank you, Lord.
