Battle Worn

Most men know what battles are like... a few on the literal battle field, many more battle it out in sporting events and all of us have a battle in the mind where good and evil are at war. I am eternally grateful that God is the mighty warrior and He is in the battle with us, if we will ask Him for help. Prayer and scripture are key weapons for us in our battle.

I believe memorized scripture is vitally important in our battles. When Jesus was in the battle with Satan, Jesus used memorized scripture to combat Satan.

Use every help God gives you to win the battles!

God be with you,
PJ

  1. A relationship with God is so key to our being able to overcome in the battles of life. Too many years I tried to win on my own. The cost is too high. Spending time with Him each morning sets the tone for the day and I know if I put my trust in Him, communicate with Him, and listen to Him, the day will be won. Does this mean my days are all good days? Of course not. Some days are just downers. It is part of our natural life here on earth. But because He is with me, I know the out come will be victory in the end. I have a real challenge. Memorization has always been difficult for me. Some days I am lucky to remember my name..LOL. But I also believe memorized scripture is a part of God's plan to help us through our daily battles. Father, help me to trust that as I put forth the effort to memorize your Word, you will plant it in my mind.

  2. Another great challenge. Pastor, you are so right. The best warrior needs the most ammunition. Memory verses are the best we have at our demand. I am trying to (With the Lord's help! I'm like you Rich, LOL) memorize key verses, and as I progress even more. They help in the day-to-day conflicts as well as fortify my armor for the conflicts that are larger or may effect those outside my immediate influence.
Pastor, I am enjoying these devos so much.
