It is so easy to feel like we are a failure when we struggle in spiritual battles with sin. Satan takes great joy in making us feel unworthy... because we are. However, that is why it is so important to realize that our righteousness comes from Jesus Christ. He is the one who makes us right... we are not good enough. It is important for me to remember that Jesus did not like the self righteousness of the Pharisees and he doesn't like it in us. When you are struggling in battles with sin, remember to use the armor of God to help you win the battle. And remember, no matter how good you are, you are not good enough and your righteousness comes only through Jesus Christ. Now, we need to stop feeling sorry for ourselves and take on the world in the victorious righteousness of Jesus Christ in us.
Have a great day!

I like how these devos build on each one. Our righteousness comes through our faith and trust in the Truth of Christ. He has put our salvation together in a logical and simple way. All we have to do is believe on Him. Again, it is so important to have a daily quiet time with Him to read His Word and pray. My communication with Him is twofold. Focused prayer each morning and continuous communication with Him throughout the day. Father, wrap me in the body armor of righteousness that others might see you in me throughout the day.
ReplyDeleteI can tell you, as I have experienced, to go into battle or conflict without armor, is to invite the wrath of hurt. As I wore my flax vest even in the bathroom and in bed, I knew that at any given time the rounds would come. All the different items are needed to make the armor function at optimal efficiency, as well as we need to trust and wear the armor, we also need to patch, reenforce and renew the armor as we live and grow in the Lord.
ReplyDeleteI agree Rich, these devos are essentcial to my growth, learning and spiritual development. As they keep me accountable, surrounds me with Brothers in Christ and challenges me with the Word of God. Daily I am getting more and more, as in the spiritual growth, starting to read proverbs and the insights you and Pastor Joe talk of. Thank you all.
Thank you Lord, I am so blessed and all is for and from You Lord.
