I am honest, I do this some! More than I want to admit! Another scripture passage that is helpful for me is Philippians 4:4-7 (NIV)
4 Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!
5 Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.
6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
"God, please send your Spirit to help me trust You more and worry less!"

Getting close to retirement, concern for the future can quickly turn into worry. It is not easy to turn it all over to Him and trust Him to give wisdom and guidance for our future. Father, I pray, that through your word, devotionals and pastor's messages, you give us the peace that you are truly in control of the future and that you keep watch over us now and forever.
ReplyDeleteWorrying about everything I have to do throughout the day can really get me in a bind and cause a lot of stress. By using all of the time I spend worrying as prayer time, I can build my relationship with Christ and learn to worry much less.
ReplyDeleteYES!!! I do worry. About things that I just need to get over and turn over to God! My biggest block is to release and let god work. I pray that this is where God work in me. I am so guilty of this, I am a man, I always feel that I need to fix it, regardless of if I can.
ReplyDeleteLord, please work me though this. My family, my church and You need more from me. This is something that is holding me back, Please, Please, take this from me.
