I enjoyed reading the comments regarding the Thursday, Jan 14 devo. Thank you! I, too, like my comfort zone. But I desire to be the kind of believer that will have such great faith that I will choose to take faith based risks for God. I am very grateful for God's faithfulness to me in past situations that give me stronger faith and greater trust in Him to take risks for God's glory.
I want to challenge the men, who are married, to take the risk to have devo's with your wife and pray with her. Don't keep your spiritual growth a secret. If you are not married, take the risk to share some spiritual truth you are learning with a friend.
Tomorrow we will do another devo on risk... it is good. Ask God what risk He would have you take!
God bless you,
PJ

Hey men, thanks for sharing your thoughts. Thanks Rich and Casey for your recent comments. They were good! You inspire me!
ReplyDeleteRich, you are so right in your comment about the reward for stepping out of the boat!!! When God placed on my heart to step out and follow his call for the ministry, I felt so overwelmingly insecure! Me? Casey Pate? Talk of panic!!
ReplyDeleteStepping out and heeding His call is an awesome experience. Is it easy? NO! As I said at Bible Study, the "Rails are not greased!", but once I stepped out in faith, believed on the Lord and immersed my worries and doubts in the Word of God, I found that the Lord does make all things possible. Yes the risks are great, but surround yourself with Godly people (You guys, the Bible Study Group and Church), immerse yourself in the Word (Daily Devo's, my quiet time), and keep your eyes on the Lord (I have a mind picture of me and God on a beach in Heaven).
I have all this in my limited manly mind (It is truly a man thing per Psych 101, LOL) at all times. I have to. Daily I am challenged, daily I have doubts of my worldly abilities and daily I find that the excuses TO NOT follow though are easier to find than the excuses TO follow though.
Thank you Lord for my Wife, you guys, the Church, my Pastor and giving me the opportunity to better serve you, Lord. I walk daily in your hands, your Spirit be my guide and your Word my instructions. Thank you all for holding me accountable, and your support.
You are an Awesome God.

ReplyDeleteLane, I am glad you are a part of the group. That is awesome! Regarding the blog... all you can do is use the comment section unless you set up your own blog site. However, use the comment section like your own blog each day. PJ
